2017 has been a very exciting and successful year for our Livingston Kiwanis club and we should all be very proud. Just think of all our accomplishments.
Our Builders Club at Heritage Middle School received its' charter. We became the sponsor for a Circle K Club at NJIT and we added three new members to our Livingston club. We continue our support for Tony's Kitchen in Montclair. We also help support the YMCA swim program, Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities and the new Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors as well as many more worthwhile organizations. The Karnival was a great success even though we were rained out on Saturday. A special thanks to Barrie Werfel for raising a record amount of money for our sign boards.
One of the best days as a member of our club is the July 4th swim Karnival when we watch the children do their best to win and no matter how they place in the contest, each child wins a medal and knows she/he is a winner.
We all must thank Jon Kempner, Helen Flores and Sam Patel for hosting our summer barbecues. A huge thank you to our golf committee which continues to hold successful outings year after year and raise much needed funds for the First Aid Squad and Fire Department.
I personally want to thank all of our members and especially the officers and directors for their help they've given me.
I am so proud to be a member of Kiwanis and want you to know that each and every member makes this such a special club. I know that Bruce Van Ysseldyk will do an outstanding job as our new President starting on October 4th.
